Grow a Garden 2 mutations: every multiplier, verified

A mutation is the biggest price lever in Grow a Garden 2 — and the sequel plays by different rules: one mutation per crop, no stacking. Below is every Grow a Garden 2 mutation with its multiplier and how it is earned, cross-checked across the community wiki and five independent guides. Where sources still disagree, we show the range instead of picking a number and hoping.

All Grow a Garden 2 mutations and multipliers

Sorted by multiplier, strongest first. A mutation multiplies the crop's sell value once — with no stacking, this table is the whole game. Price any of them instantly with the mini calculator under the table, or run full weight and quantity maths on the Grow a Garden 2 calculator.

Worked example: take a crop with a base sell price of 100 Sheckles. With no mutation it sells for 100. Land Eclipsed on it during an Eclipse and it sells for 100 × 80 = 8,000. Land Glow and it sells for 100 × 100 = 10,000 — from a single roll, because in this game one mutation is all you get. In the original game you would have stacked several smaller multipliers on the same fruit; here, chasing the one big event window is the entire strategy. Full method: How We Calculate.

The multiplier box is editable on purpose: for disputed mutations such as Bloodlit and Aurora, type the value your game actually shows and the maths follows it.

Bloodlit Mutation Multiplier in Grow a Garden 2

Bloodlit is a weather mutation tied to the Blood Moon event. It multiplies a crop's Sheckle sell value, so a fruit that becomes Bloodlit sells for many times its normal price.

ItemReported value
Bloodlit multiplier80x in most guides, 60x in one list
TriggerBlood Moon weather event
Event lengthAbout two minutes, per one guide
ChanceAround 1% per fruit, per two guides
Original gameReported at only about 4x

The two numbers likely come from guides updated at different times, since the game is new and values are still being re-tested. Use 80x as the working figure, and check the in-game value if the result matters.

The Bloodlit mutation multiplier in Grow a Garden 2 is reported at 80x by most guides, though one list shows 60x. In plain terms, a fruit that turns Bloodlit sells for roughly eighty times its normal Sheckle value, and the only way to get it is the Blood Moon weather event. Here is how it works, how to catch it, and how it compares with the other mutations.

How to Get the Bloodlit Mutation

  1. Wait for Blood Moon. It is a special weather event and cannot be forced.
  2. Have ripe crops in the ground. Guides say empty or harvested plots cannot receive the mutation.
  3. Hold back your best crops. A high-base-value fruit gains the most from a big multiplier.
  4. Stay online for the whole event. The window is short.
  5. Sell after it lands. Sell the Bloodlit fruit once you have the multiplier you wanted.

Can You Stack Mutations in Grow a Garden 2?

Most guides say no. They report that a crop holds only one mutation at a time, unlike the first game where mutations could combine. If a second mutation hits a crop that already has one, the game is reported not to create a combined multiplier.

One guide describes a different formula, where a Gold or Rainbow variant combines with a weather mutation. Another wiki also describes a variant-plus-additive model. Because the sources disagree, treat stacking as unconfirmed. The safest plan is to count one mutation per crop, and test a stacked crop yourself before you rely on it.

safe estimate = base value × one mutation multiplier × quantity

Best Mutation in Grow a Garden 2

By the highest reported multiplier, Bloodlit is the best, followed by Starstruck. Some older or differing lists name Electric as the best because their values are lower for Bloodlit and Starstruck. Event mutations also depend on luck, so the best mutation in practice is the one you can actually land on a full garden of valuable crops.

Bloodlit deserves its own page

Bloodlit is the mutation players ask about most — and one of the few where guides still split between 60x and 80x. Our dedicated GAG 2 Bloodlit mutation multiplier breakdown covers its value, the Blood Moon odds and exactly how the one-mutation rule applies to it.

How the system works

One mutation per crop: the sequel's single-slot rule

In Grow a Garden 2, a growing crop that catches a mutation holds exactly one. There are no variant-plus-environment stacks and no adding a second event's effect on top — every major community source agrees on this, and it flips the strategy from the first game:

One honest gap: sources agree a crop holds a single mutation, but they do not clearly document whether a later, stronger event can overwrite an existing weaker mutation. We do not claim an overwrite rule either way — if you test it in game, tell us and we will log it.

Community weather trackers also list day/night phases and special moons (Blood Moon, Gold Moon, Rainbow Moon, Mega Moon) cycling in the sequel — the mutation you can earn depends on which sky is up, so watch the weather before a big harvest. Restock timing for the seeds and plants behind these mutations is on the GAG 2 stock tracker.

Playing the original Grow a Garden?

The first game uses a completely different mutation system — Gold and Rainbow variants plus stacking environmental multipliers such as Shocked and Celestial. None of the numbers on this page apply there. Use the original game's mutation table on the calculator hub and the value guide instead. Never mix the two games' multipliers — it is the fastest way to price a harvest wrong.

Grow a Garden 2 mutations FAQ

Do mutations stack in Grow a Garden 2?

No. In Grow a Garden 2 a crop can carry only one mutation at a time, so there is no stacking the way the original game allowed. That is exactly why the single strongest mutation matters so much in the sequel — one 100x Glow beats any combination the first game could build on one fruit.

What is the highest mutation multiplier in Grow a Garden 2?

Glow, at 100x, from the Star Fruit plant. Eclipsed is next at 80x from the Eclipse event. Bloodlit is listed at 60x by most current guides, though some lists still say up to 80x — we show it as a disputed range on this page.

How do I get the Glow mutation in Grow a Garden 2?

Grow the Star Fruit plant. Community guides report that Star Fruit has a chance to apply the Glow mutation to crops at night, and at 100x it is the strongest single mutation in the game — worth building a night garden around.

Which Grow a Garden 2 weather events give mutations?

Snowfall gives Frozen (14x), a Lightning Storm gives Electric (25x), Starfall gives Starstruck (50x), the Blood Moon gives Bloodlit (60x by most lists), the Sunburst gives Ignited (60x), an Eclipse gives Eclipsed (80x), and the Aurora Borealis gives Aurora — the one multiplier sources genuinely cannot agree on, with lists ranging from 1.5x to 90x.

Can pets apply mutations in Grow a Garden 2?

Yes, three pets interact with mutations. The Shadow Dragon has a 10% chance to apply the Veil mutation (20x) when you plant a seed. The Unicorn doubles your chance of Rainbow mutations and the Golden Dragonfly doubles your chance of Gold mutations, which is why those two are top-tier farming pets.

Why do Grow a Garden 2 mutation lists disagree with each other?

Because the developer publishes no official mutation list, every figure comes from community testing, and patches rebalance values. Most multipliers are now consistent across guides, but a few are still disputed — Aurora (listed anywhere from 1.5x to 90x) and Rainbow (10x to 40x, with 30x the most common). On this page we show the consensus value and flag the full range wherever sources conflict, and the in-game number is always the final word.

Sources & method

Where this data comes from

Data sources: every multiplier above was cross-checked on October 20, 2026 across at least two independent GAG 2 sources — the community wiki on Fandom, Beebom's and TechWiser's mutation guides, bo3.gg, GameRant and the backyarddrunkard guide. Gold 10x, Frozen 14x, Electric 25x, Starstruck 50x, Ignited 60x, Eclipsed 80x and Glow 100x agree everywhere. Bloodlit (60x vs 80x), Rainbow (10x–40x) and Aurora (1.5x–90x) genuinely conflict between sources, so they are shown as ranges — the same treatment our Grow a Garden 2 wiki gives disputed numbers. One GAG 2 hub we reviewed lists several multipliers that match the original game's values instead of the sequel's; we treated it as contaminated and did not use it. Our full method is on How We Calculate.

Mutations are estimates until you see them in game: patches rebalance values without notice. Seen a different multiplier in game? Report it — we fix errors and log corrections publicly.
